About the book

This book is about international understanding between Occident and Orient!

Iran is anchored in astonishing remnants of our past. This book is not only a cultural and travel guide to Iran but it helps us to learn all about Iran, the Iranians, the history, the politics and the US sanctions. It helps us to plan our "1001 nights" journey to this wonderful land with great, open-hearted people. My international reviewers and I, we worked a year on this book. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed writing it.

a project for international understanding and peace

Romanticism in europe

It is suggested that Antoine Galland French orientalist and archaeologist, ignited Romanticism in Europe with his translations of "One Thousand and One Nights" stories, which he called "Les mille et une nuits", as these are a collection of romantic and emotional stories from ancient Persia.  Romanticism in Europe was characterized by its emphasis on emotion and individualism as well as glorification of all the past and nature, preferring the medieval rather than the classical. It was partly a reaction to the Industrial Revolution and today's neo-Capitalism

Guest is God’s friend!

The Iranians have a famous saying: "The guest is the friend of God!" . Whether rich or poor, they do their best for their guests and treat locals, foreigners or relatives with the outmost hospitality. Iran is world-famous as the most hospitable country on earth.

If you travel to Iran, you will be amazed how often you hear the expression "ghabel nadare", whether you are visiting a friend or eat in a restaurant, but also when you want to buy something in a shop and pay a taxi driver.

Some stories say that "ghabel nadareh" was originally an expression used when presenting gifts to the king. It meant that the gift was so small compared to the king's greatness. Then the expression became popular and guests are treated like kings.

Foreign visitors to Iran are always overwhelmed by Persian hospitality.

1001 nights in Two weeks

How we prepared ourselves for the journey and how did we manage to see and experience so much of Persia with the help of this book. The chapter 4 is basically our diary, it is our day-by-day explorations, the places we visit, the wonderful people we meet, and more importantly the experience we will have in this two weeks, from the moment we take-off for beautiful Persia, to the moment we fly back home.

Obviously with our experienced tour guide Davoud who will accompany us throughout the journey.
